WATCH: The first teaser for live action ‘Beauty and the Beast’
The tale as old as time is coming back to the big screen.
The first teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast film debuted this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Based on the 1991 animated Disney film, which was the first animated film to reach $100 million in North America and was ranked as the third most-successful film of 1991, filmmaker Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, Dreamgirls) is reimagining the classic with an all star cast, and what looks like stunning visuals.
The teaser lives up to the name, as we get stunning visuals of the castle, a brief chat from a few of the houses inhabitants, and a stunning shot of Emma Watson as Belle staring at the rose.
The film’s cast includes Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston; Kevin Kline as Belle’s father, Maurice; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s sidekick; Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts and Nathan Mack as Chip.
Bringing back the film’s iconic music, Beauty and the Beast will feature numbers from Alan Mencken and the late Howard Ashman, as well as new numbers from Menken and Tim Rice.
