The Underground Music Showcase (UMS) officially announces its lineup for the 25th anniversary show taking place July 25-27 in the vibrant South Broadway/Baker neighborhood of Denver. This year’s event will host an eclectic mix of discovery talent, indie darlings, and national acts with over 200 performers. The lineup pays homage to the festival’s storied history while featuring exciting new acts.
The 2025 UMS lineup promises to be its most exciting yet with performances across four outdoor stages and no less than 10 venues on South Broadway. Attendees can expect a dynamic blend of genres including rock, electronic, punk, metal, hip-hop, folk, and experimental sound reflecting the evolution of music.
UMS headliners for the weekend include Nashville-based rock band All Them Witches, L.A. hip-hop duo Flyana Boss, and legacy headliner DevotchKa. The festival will also feature indie and up-and-coming talent including Barbara, Gio Chamba, and Horse Bitch. More than 85% of the artists are based in Colorado, and UMS will also be debuting a Wyoming Artist Showcase to include performances by Box Elder, Cassandra Rose, De Gringos Y Gremmies, Hilary Camino, and Speed The Pilgrim.
“UMS is special because lots of bands get the opportunity to play on larger stages with internationally and nationally recognized bands to both gain exposure and experience. It fosters a sense of community … I think music brings a lot of people together,” says Tom Hagerman of DeVotchKa.
Reflecting on DeVotchKa’s first performance at UMS in 2002, Hagerman continues, “I remember DeVotchKa got our photo on the paper, the Denver Post, and people from all over the country saw that. It really helped promote the band.” UMS is thrilled to welcome back this Colorado-based UMS Legacy Band!
The 25th anniversary show will also be honoring those who have been part of the festival’s decade-spanning history by presenting a Legacy Lineup that includes The Andersons, Anthony Ruptak, Edison, IZCALLI, Kid Astronaut + The Nebula, Trayce Chapman, Venus Cruz & Super Distant Boyfriend, and YaSi.
“It’s incredible to see Underground Music Showcase celebrate 25 years of amplifying Denver’s vibrant music scene,” Casey Berry, UMS co-manager and founder of Two Parts says. “We’re honored to carry forward a legacy that has championed local talent, community, and the spirit of discovery for so many years.”
UMS began in 2001 as a one-night-only show but has since evolved into a multi-day festival. Beyond the music, the festival expresses its core value of building community by providing care support throughout the weekend including sober bars, accessibility plans, mental health and wellness resources, and a two-day industry conference for artists.
The cultural legacy of UMS continues July 25-27 in the South Broadway/Baker neighborhood of Denver at 5 p.m.
