The Unabashed Con is a queer kink convention set to come to Denver in 2021. For now, they welcome you to join their first-ever virtual event. The in-home, COVID-safe, online, queer kink event will be taking place on Saturday, December 12, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. MST.
Ticket prices range from free to $20; choose whichever price best fits your budget, as there is no difference in access when it comes to ticket prices. Tickets are available online, and access to the digital content for this event will be sent via email, so make sure to use an up-to-date email address and not unsubscribe from email updates in order to get your ticket.
The event will feature several games including “group domming,” which is described as a kinky take on Simon says. The virtual event will also feature a rope bonding performance, kinky storytime, and an open voyeur and exhibitionist room. There will also be special surprise guest appearances as well as announcements of what’s to come from Unabashed in the new year.
“We are really trying to make sure people can still build community, even during a pandemic,” event organizer Mia told OUT FRONT. Unabashed has hinted at other virtual events to look forward to before their scheduled convention in 2021.
Kink is an important part of LGBTQ culture, and many have suggested the addition of K for kink to be added to the LGBTQ alphabet.
“Kinks, sex, and protest are all inherent parts of Pride,” wrote one Twitter user. “One of the core tenets of pride is liberation and working against cultural shaming,” wrote a user under the handle @atty_boy. “Calling to make Pride ‘kid-friendly’ implies that celebrating sexuality and kink openly is bad. Normalizing these things is a GOAL of pride.”
Unabashed shares that same goal of normalizing sexuality and kink with their upcoming events and cons.
