Trans model recreates #mycalvins underwear campaign
This year, Calvin Klein rolled out a spring collection with the help from a few very popular people including Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Kendrick Lamar, FKA Twigs, and Fetty Wap.
In the ads, the celebrities pose in their calvins and fill out the “I ______ in #mycalvins.” It has a hint of inspiration, but we didn’t feel it. It seemed too catered to the underdog, without really representing the underdog.

We weren’t the only ones who felt that they weren’t represented in the campaign. Lucas Charlie Rose, a trans man from Montreal, took it upon himself to rock some Calvins and give us the ad campaign we want.
“The Calvin Klein campaigns are iconic but I’ve never truly felt like they represented me,” Lucas said. “So I decided to make my own!”
Lucas has yet to have top surgery, yet in the recreated pictures Lucas proudly shows off his trans body, wearing only a pair of Calvin Klein underwear. Copying the basis of the CK campaign, the words “I ________ in #mycalvins” are overlaid onto the images in CK’s iconic font with different words filling in the blank for each photo.
Quebec photographer Susanne Serres and make-up artist Fabiola Lamarre, helped shoot the pictures in Lucas’s home.
