Following 13 years of history, Titwrench Collective announced its final installment of the all-ages music festival in Denver, highlighting experimental and underrepresented musicians, artists, and performers in a wide variety of genres and creative mediums.
“We’re so proud of what Titwrench has accomplished as a community, and we’re excited to see what projects take shape and grow from the connections and relationships we have nurtured over the last 13 years,” says Sarah Slater, co-founder and festival director.
This year will feature Nacha Mendez from Santa Fe, NM, a dynamic artist who got her start in punk rock bands and went on to travel the world sharing her craft as an award-winning creative and collaborator.
“Our connection to New Mexico artists throughout the years has nourished our resilience and creativity through the years, and we are grateful for the relationships that have been created in that feedback loop of support between our communities,” Slater adds.
The festival will also feature experimental pop trio The Milk Blossoms, Afro-futurist blues group Machete Mouth, electro-acoustic act My Name is Harriett, and movement activation workshop Sol Vida Worldwide. Alongside the musical acts, Titwrench will launch several virtual workshops leading up to the festival, with details to come.
Titwrench has operated since 2008 as a volunteer-run, community-driven creative platform and production company for live music, educational workshops, dance parties, and conversations aimed to foster relationships in the community and beyond. The programs center artists who are women-identifying, youth, LGBTQ, and/or people of color.
Titwrench also focuses on accessibility, equity, and social justice as driving values, pushing for all-age venues and events whenever possible.
This year’s event will be outdoors, free, and open to the public on Sunday, October 3 from 4 to 10 p.m. The first 100 people who register for the event will receive a special free sticker. You can RSVP now here.
