Tanner Adell Comes Out as Pansexual

Tanner Adell, a country star featured on Beyoncé’s BLACKBIIRD, came out as pansexual at an award show.

She was invited to present the Rulebreaker Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards on March 29. On the red carpet of the event, Tanner Adell discussed her sexuality with Out and stated, “Yes. I’m pansexual.”

Adell first went viral for her song “Buckle Bunny” that came out in 2023. Her popularity increased even more after she and several other Black women country artists were featured on “COWBOY CARTER” in the song “BLACKBIIRD.” Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts sang with Beyoncé on her cover of Paul McCartney’s “Blackbird” and the group got to perform the iconic cover during the NFL’s Beyoncé Bowl on Christmas Day. The halftime show was also made into a Netflix special. Adell also performed at the 36th GLAAD Media Awards this year.

When asked about her sexuality, she said that she has previously suggested it in her music. Out mentions that fans began to take notice of this in her song “Strawberry Crush.” And with some of the least suggestive lyrics in the song being, “she saw me starin’ at the sway in her hips,” it would be difficult to assume anything other than queer vibes. She says, “It’s funny when people ask me my sexual orientation, but I feel like you should be able to hear that in my music. There’s more of that coming.”

The queer community seems to have had no problems already supporting her. Adell says, “When I have shows, the gays bring it. The gays bring it every time. There’s so many assless chaps, and that’s exactly what I dreamed of, you know?” Her newest, heartbreaking single, “Going Blonde,” is about her birth mother passing away before she got to meet her and has more than 100k likes on Youtube. The comment section is filled with people resonating with and appreciating her honesty and vulnerability, showing that her community is still plenty supportive. Adell promises that her upcoming debut album will be her most personal music yet, and I for one, am very interested to hear what she has to say. Congrats to Tanner Adell on coming out!
