Finally, A Power Ranger is queer! They’ve been running around as a rainbow squad for nearly three decades without a single gay. So, of course they needed to put an end to this ASAP by introducing an LGBTQ ranger.

The beloved Power Rangers franchise has been around for 28 years, and in the most recent television series,  Power Rangers Dino Fury, The Green Ranger, Izzy, is seen holding hands with her female love interest, Fern. In a clip that’s blazing across the internet in the final moments of Episode 13, the ladies are seen hand in hand walking away. Although this is a major spoiler alert of Americans since the series wont hit the U.S until later this month, LGBTQ fans are stoked the Power Rangers have made queer history.

However there always has to be a hater; someone called the scene a ‘marketing ploy,’ which go Power Rangers producer Simon Bennett to jump in and defend their actions, calling the moment “long overdue.” Bennett also claimed to be very happy with the overall reactions he was getting from the Power Rangers Dino Fury, Episode 13 which already aired in France. Bennett also said he can’t wait for the series to hit the U.S later this month and is excited for them to join the chat.

“Really looking forward to when it is available in the US, and I can jump into discussions.”

A Power Ranger fan in France has already dubbed this iconic hand hold as “One of the Greatest Moments in Power Ranger History,” and with more than 200 retweets, we think they’re correct. This moment is one for the books and a win for the gays.

Be sure to stay tuned, and keep an eye out for the Power Rangers Dino Fury TV series, specifically Episode 13, you’ll absolutely want to see this iconic handhold for yourself!
