RuPaul’s Drag Race Christmas special on the way
Logo TV is kicking off the holiday season right this year. Forget the Bronco’s. Forget Charlie Brown. Forget your great aunt’s holiday bizarre. RuPaul, alongside a laundry list of gay icons and former contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is taking over the night of December 13, and giving us RuPaul’s Drag Race: A Green Screen Christmas.
The christmas special will feature Ru reportedly dueting with Todrick Hall, Big Freedia, Ellis Miah, Michelle Visage, Siedah Garrett, and Markaholic. Other queens that are due to make an appearance on the special include Latrice Royale, Raja, Laganja Estranja, Alyssa Edwards, and Shangela.
We can only hope it matches RuPaul’s Christmas Ball, which aired in 1993 and is still one of the greatest Christmas specials of all time. And pray that it’s better than her VH1 special in 1997 to promote her Christmas Album “Ho, Ho, Ho.”
Expect to hear a lot of her new Christmas album “Sleigh Belles” and hopefully some of “Christmas Queens,” which features songs by former contestants. Needless to say, we are very excited to once again have Ru on our television sets during the holidays.
