Community makes history, then and now

As I made my way through the room too small for the crowd the showdown had attracted, I saw the worn but determined faces of several community members – friends and acquaintances not normally engaged in the legislative process.

The graphic designer and founder of CafeVivid.com, a Web resource launched in 1997 for LGBT events in Denver, has kept a hand in every pool in Colorado’s LGBT social scene: In Hip Chicks Out, a women’s social group she founded in 2007, in Climax Sundays at Vinyl which she co-produces with DJ Tatiana, and in this spring’s SWISH events lineup with Dede Frain.

Queer and roving in Las Vegas

Funny, people who’ve known me for years have said that I wouldn’t like Vegas: Too artificial, too gluttonous, too lit-up for me. I absolutely get that. It’s not generally my style.
