This November, Coloradans will play a critical role in which way direction our nation progresses – or as we see it, possibly regresses.
Colorado voters will play a decisive role in relationship recognition rights when they decide who will represent them at the state Capitol. On the same ballot, Coloradans will choose between President Barack Obama who says he still has work to do, and his Republican challenger Gov. Mitt Romney who thinks Obama’s wasted four years.
Romney, by most accounts, emerged the winner at the Oct. 3 debate, hosted by the University of Denver, not because his policies are sure to reset the economy or because his zingers appeared to resonate more with voters, but because the former governor of Massachusetts appeared to control the debate by shutting down the president and moderator more often, and keeping up the attack on the Democratic incumbent.
Vote! It’s vital in every election if our republic is to function as it was intended. But do more – join me by giving cash and/or time. Don’t simply sit back and leave your civil rights up to others. I am one who truly believes in action, not reflection. Much comes from simply showing up.
