OFM Music Reviews November
Here are the awaited OFM music reviews for new music coming to you this November.
A Boogie wit da Hoodie
Me Vs. Myself
Not much is known about the new Boogie album, the rapper’s first full-length since 2020. If his recent music is anything to go by, expect slow beats, sultry vibes, and sad boi rhymes about living and dating in the present. As of late, the artist has worked with Rowdy Rebel, B-Lovee, Nas,and the late King Von, so expect Boogie to bring the heat.

First Aid Kit
Palomino
Your favorite 2010s European sister singers are back with sweeping songs about troubled, uncertain love. This time, as can be heard in the single “Out of My Head,” they’re punctuating their harmonies with disco-era, ABBA-inspired beats. If you’re feeling nostalgic for the days when Bon Iver couldn’t sell tickets fast enough, this is the album to put on.

Gold Panda
The Work
This is the first record by the electronic innovator since he became a proud, sober papa. Songs like the gorgeous, down-tempo “The Corner” and the upbeat, 90’s beats of “I’ve Felt Better (Than I Do Now)” hint that the album is a wide-ranging exploration of the beautiful struggle to quit addiction and embrace the good of life. Groove away to fight the incoming winter sads.

Bruce Springsteen
Only the Strong Survive
Thanksgiving is coming up, and usually, it’s tough to find enough basic topics to make it through the holiday. Bruce Springsteen seems to have sensed this and has gifted the world with a soul covers album right in time for the yearly feast. Discuss the song choices with loved ones who might remember the originals better. Better yet, put the album on, and let it do the talking for you.

Offset
Title TBD
Are Migos breaking up? Are Quavo and Takeoff just continuing without Offset? Listen closely for lyrical clues about this alleged drama in Offset’s first solo release in years. If his recent spot at Future’s rain-filled show is any indication, he is ready to go solo and take us along for the ride.

Caitlin Rose
CAZIMI
Alt-country talent Caitlin Rose is back with her first collection of tracks in almost a decade. On lead single “Black Obsidian,” the artist concocts an Americana-tinged rock song that defies easy categorization. If one is missing Courtney Barnett or Marissa Nadler’s heyday, or longing for a new era of The Dixie Chicks, this should scratch the itch.
