OFM Gallery: STRFKR, Ruth Radelet, and Happy Sad Face at the Ogden Theatre on 4/30/24
OFM saw alternative indie band STRFKR with support from Ruth Radelet and happy sad face at the Ogden Theatre on 4/30/24. Originating in Portland as a solo project for guitarist Joshua Hodges, STRFKR released their first record, Starfucker, in 2008. Since then they have released numerous hit albums featuring songs that shaped the 2010’s indie music scene, and their most recent album titled Parallel Realms was released in March of this year ramping up the band’s 2024 tour.
The crowd was dancing and singing all night long as STRFKR exuded one of the best stage presences I’ve ever seen. From the confetti canon, colorful lights, to the eye-catching background dancers, the energy in the Ogden was at an all time high. The band kicked off the night with “While I’m Alive” and played classic hits like “Rawnald Gregory Erickson The Second”, “Golden Light”, “Open Your Eyes”, and some newer hits like “Together Forever” and “Under Water/In Air.” Overall, the show was hit and fans were left screaming for more as the final canon of confetti was shot off and the night came to a bittersweet and unforgettable end.
