OFM Gallery: Chappell Roan at Boulder Theater

There was nothing casual about Boulder Theater on Tuesday night, as Chappell Roan and her dedicated fans rolled through town. As the line to enter wrapped around the block, you could see fans decked out and on theme, wearing head to toe glitter and lashes to match her song “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl.”

The show was kicked off with help from local drag queens Dr. Zackarina Jenny-Hoe, Gucci Blaze, and Juiccy Misdemeanor. Each queen shone on stage, getting the crowd even more excited, and, of course, collecting their dollar bills. As the house lights dimmed, the anticipation for Chappell grew. She started off her set with fan-favorite “Femininomenon,” leading the crowd through the call and response bridge.

Chappell was smiling from ear to ear while gazing upon the audience’s energy. The crowd was the loudest during the bridge of her newest single “Good Luck Babe,” belting the lyrics with her. And if you wanted to dance, you were in the right place, as “Hot To Go” has its very own special dance to accompany it! While not everyone had the room to recreate the line “Snap and clap and touch your toes, raise your hands, hot body roll,” they were able to do a classic arm spelling of the song title led by Chappell herself. At the end of the show she took time to wave and thank each section of the crowd for the amazing night.
