Netflix Original Sci-Fi Series “Sense8” Features Two LGBT Characters

Netflix is kicking butt when it comes to original television shows, and now we’re looking forward to their latest sci-fi series, “Sense8.”

The series follows eight strangers from all over the world who discover a strange connection where they can live through the experiences of each other, and Netflix just released character trailers for the eight main stars. The best part being is not only one LGBT character, but there are two!

First up is transgender lesbian blogger and hacker Nomi, played by trans actress Jamie Clayton. Nomi lives in San Francisco and it appears the show takes a look at her strained relationship with her mother due to her gender identity.

The second main LGBT character we’re introduced to is Lito, the closeted telenovela star played by Miguel Ángel Silvestren. Much of Lito’s storyline revolves around the struggle with keeping his sexuality, and his secret boyfriend Hernando (Alfonso Herrera), out of the spotlight.
