Native Roots Opens Two New Locations, One with Drive-Thru!
Already one of Denver’s favorite spots for boutique cannabis shopping, Native Roots Cannabis Co. recently opened two new Denver locations with brand-new, fresh looks, and new ways to shop. One store is located at 1155 South Colorado Boulevard, and the other is at 500 Grant Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The South Colorado Boulevard location is for recreational customers only, while the new Grant Street flagship will serve both recreational shoppers and medical marijuana patients.
These new stores are part of a brand redesign for Native Roots Cannabis Co. and are the first stores to feature a new store design concept designed to revitalize the cannabis experience and make it more inviting to the masses.
Designed with the intent to offer customers more than just a place to purchase cannabis, they’re also a place to learn and discover. “Since cannabis was legalized for adult-use, the customer experience has almost always started and stopped with a conversation between a retail employee and a customer. The new store design allows customers to explore and choose their own path to product discovery”, says Denise De Nardi, chief of sales at Native Roots. “It’s a shift from a transactionally-focused environment into a more engaging retail experience that generates more value for our customers,” she continues.
Both locations also introduce a new décor aesthetic, featuring modern woodgrain, metal finishes and whimsical signage. “We’re excited to offer an evolved brand experience that feels highly personalized, with a warm material palette and eye-catching visual merchandising designs”, says Drew Sima, creative director. “Our goal was to create an inviting retail atmosphere perfectly suited for immersive cannabis experiences.”
One of the most exciting things about this announcement is that the 500 Grant Street location also features a drive-thru. Once a Boston Market restaurant, the new building came equipped with a full service drive-thru. In light of COVID19 and changing attitudes in consumer behavior, Native Roots worked with the state’s Marijuana Enforcement Division to permanently allow drive-thru operations for cannabis businesses. The company is also working on legislation in 2021 to make permanent the regulations allowing online ordering and the “to-go” style pickup that has become popular during the pandemic to better serve the community.
“The drive-thru is one of our fastest shopping experiences,” says Amy Mainero, director of marketing operations for Native Roots. “For those who know what they want, it’s a great option. We offer a digital menu via QR code that customers can access in line. That said, if customers have any questions, one of our educated budtenders will still be able to walk them through product offerings, promotions, and questions.
“Our drive thru has become very popular since its launch and customers are extremely happy to have another way to shop with us,” she continues. “Aside from the drive thru, we still offer in-store shopping and Order Ahead through our website.”
