The International Museum of Illusions is set to open the doors of its Denver location on September 29 at the 16th Street Mall. This one’s for anyone and everyone who enjoys a trippy, mind-bending experience. The Denver site joins a family of 40 museums across 25 countries that focus on immersing visitors in interactive illusion exhibits that arouse the senses and tickle the brain. The Museum of Illusions joins a wealth of prolific businesses at the 16th Street Mall and allures locals and tourists alike with its striking gold accents on the windows and signage. With a focus on both the fun and the educational, the museum provides multifaceted opportunities to explore and interact with exhibits that are spread out over 6,200+ feet of museum space.
Making use of its vast expanse, the Museum of Illusions Denver will have 60 different exhibits that incorporate visual and educational elements. With illusion experts on hand to break down the science behind the exhibits for curious museum-goers, the museum offers a mind-bending experience while demystifying the math and science behind illusions. Visitors are encouraged to interact with their surroundings, including optical illusions, holograms, and physical art. Suitable for all ages, the museum hopes that visitors will have “an experience that challenges perceptions and sparks curiosity,” says Museum of Illusions Denver’s Marketing Manager Karah Duanchan. Some of the illusions in the museum include a gravity-defying reversed room, a trippy clone room where multiples of oneself abound, and a never-ending infinity room. To add a touch of home there are multiple Denver-specific exhibits that incorporate the Rocky Mountains, historic Denver architecture, and even the RTD trains. The Museum of Illusions is also the perfect place to snap some quirky, silly, and fun pictures for your feed, for all those who are social media inclined.
Tickets for the Museum of Illusions Denver, 951 16th Street Mall, are currently on sale starting at $20 and can be purchased via the Museum of Illusions Denver website.
