More than 8,000 participate in AIDS Walk

The 24th Annual AIDS Walk Colorado was held Saturday, Aug. 13 at Cheesman Park. More than 8,000 people participated in the Rocky Mountain Region’s largest and most successful HIV/AIDS fundraiser. The event featured a 5K Run / Walk, the Celebration of Life Festival, the 3rd annual AIDS Walk Colorado Volleyball Tournament and the Diva Dash. Panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt were on display at the park’s acropolis in honor of those lost to the disease. Proceeds benefit the Colorado AIDS Project and more than 20 other AIDS service organizations.
