Meow Wolf June Events Round Up
Calling all Meow Wolf lovers! June is upon us, and Meow Wolf has a round-up of events you don’t want to miss! For those who haven’t had the opportunity to experience all that Meow Wolf has to offer, they are a Santa Fe-based arts and entertainment company that creates immersive, interactive experiences to transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms of story and exploration. The third permanent installation of Meow Wolf opened in Denver in September 2021 and is known as the Convergence Station.
To start off the month, Indie 102.3’s Pride Kickoff feat. VINCINT took place on June 2 featuring a music performance from VINCINT, sets from local DJs, appearances from some of Denver’s most dynamic drag performers, and featured host Demi Harvey.
Danceportation, Meow Wolf’s immersive dance party flowing through the worlds of Convergence Station, took place on June 3 featuring disco, garage, and the cutting-edge house music of Justin Jay, followed by a diverse lineup of artists including Ardalan, DJ Swisha, Juliet Mendoza, and Todd Edwards.
Adulti-Verse: Local-verse, A 21+ Celebration of Denver Favorites took place on June 7 showcasing some of Denver’s staples in the music and art community. They were also the host location for the crowning of the 2023 Garnish Games Bartending Champions where spectators were able to watch as the final six bars competed in a head-to-head challenge.
On June 14 and 15, We Are Here: The Drag Guide to Pride will take place alongside The House of L’Whor which is proud to present drag performances from Lulu Alnite, Zimmorah Mei, Talia Tucker L’Whor, Ryan Stone, Foxxxy Cox L’Whor, Porsha Demarco Douglas, and Mariah Spanic.
The Storybook KiKi Ball Presented by House of Flora, will take place on June 17. The House of Flora is a KiKi house that originated in Portland, Oregon, and expanded its roots in Denver, CO, under the direction of Valentino Valentine, AKA Mother Flora. Valentino Valentine, founder of Denver KiKi Sessions and Mother to not only The Premier KiKi House of Denver but The Premier House of The State of Colorado, will be kicking off the Denver KiKi Scene.
On June 29, Costumina, a FAN EXPO kickoff, will feature a night of mingling with professional cosplayers, cosmic cocktails, and a celebration of fandom in our enchanted multiverse. Showcasing the talent of a vibrant community of cosplayers, it’s encouraged that you dress up as your favorite characters from movies, TV shows, comics, and games.
As we move into early July, School of Rock w/ Guest Act Sounds Like Teen Spirit will take place on July 8 presenting “Sounds Like Teen Spirit,” a hard-rocking salute to the music of the 90s through the present day. Performed live on stage by some of the most talented teenage musicians in the country, The School of Rock House Band program provides students under the age of 18 the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from their school with opportunities to perform at iconic venues and music festivals across the country.
