Denver PrideFest Entertainment Lineup
Hello, you can call me Dallas. I am an intern…
The Center on Colfax has announced its lineup for this upcoming Denver Pridefest as it celebrates its 50th anniversary! This year’s Pridefest is scheduled for June 22-23 at Civic Center Park, hosted by Center on Colfax, the minds behind Denver PrideFest. Last years’ event drew over 550,000 attendees, and this year’s events will include a PRIDE 5k race, live performances, and a colorful parade that will travel from Cheesman Park to downtown Denver.
“We have a stellar lineup of entertainers to help us honor this significant 50-year anniversary milestone and an amazing two days of festivities planned. In spite of recent attempts to marginalize our community, we look forward to joining together with many of the Denver Pride founders and hundreds of thousands of our close personal friends in a celebration of our heritage and culture,” says The Center’s CEO Rex Fuller.
This year’s PrideFest will include four drag performers from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Alyssa Edwards, an exciting and famous headliner, is one of the 30 drag queens featured in Miley Cyrus’s 2015 VMA performance as well as a constant on RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2012 and RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars in 2016.
The second center-stage star will be Shea Couleé, who won Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars and finished as a finalist in the seventh season. Shea is an internationally renowned drag superstar, recording artist, model, and actor known for their fashion-forward editorial looks. An artist through and through, her work reaches out to uplift the LGBTQ+ and the BIPOC community, art that is, in her words, a “love letter to Black women.”
Pattie Gonia, a critically acclaimed drag queen, will also be taking the stage this upcoming PrideFest. Their work exists to diversify the outdoor/environmental movements and Make Nature Gay Again. Together with her community, they’ve fundraised over $2 million dollars for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and environmental nonprofits as well as having several film projects under their belt like Won’t Give Up (featuring Yo-Yo Ma and Quinn Christopherson.)
Lastly, Mirage hailed the “Legs of Las Vegas,” having become a renowned performer wherever she goes following her electrifying exit from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Having collected over 5 million streams on Spotify, she’s also secured her spot as an official dance floor diva with her viral hit “She’s Such a Bitch.”
Denver PrideFest will also feature two additional entertainment stages: the Absolut Dance World Stage and the Latin Stage, brought to you by US Bank. The mission of Denver PrideFest is to create a fun, safe, and empowering space to celebrate members of Colorado’s LGBTQ community and their allies. The event is one of the largest LGBTQ celebrations in the nation and generates $25 million in economic impact for the city of Denver. Denver PrideFest is also The Center’s largest fundraiser, providing over $1 million in support to help the organization serve LGBTQ+ youth, seniors, Colorado’s transgender community, and training and legal programs.
