Denver four-legged patrons now allowed on bar patios

June 2, 2014
The Denver Environmental Health Department recently enacted new rules to allow canines on restaurant and bar patios, so long as they remain by the owner’s side.
Before these new rules were introduced, wait staff were unable to serve on patios that allowed dogs, and the health department had been receiving requests for some time for service and dogs to be present.
For those who don’t want to be bothered by pooches when eating outside, good news: half of the patio must remain dog-free, the dogs must be on leashes, and restaurants maintain the rights to kick a dog out if not on good behavior.
