Cher Dropping Dual Albums Alongside New Boyfriend
Cher revealed some exciting news earlier this month. In collaboration with Alexander “A.E.” Edwards, her new boyfriend, she’s flying off to England to make two fresh albums. In an interview with E! News at the Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love taping Cher says about the announcement, “Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that. He’s a producer and a writer, and he does everything, so I’m happy about that.”
Cher and Edwards have been going out since they met at Paris Fashion Week last year. Fans were hesitant to approve their relationship because of their 40-year age difference, but Cher is always quick to assure fans that Edwards treats her well. She addresses the rumors while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, “On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great.”
Cher, 76, also hints at wanting to dance on stage with Sumayah McRae, a longtime dancer on Cher’s stage. When the new albums release, they will be her 27th and 28th studio albums, respectively.
There were rumors of engagement over Christmas this past year, but as of now, it’s looking like a false alarm. If they do get married, it will be Cher’s third marriage, Greg Allman and Sonny Bono being past loves of hers. Cher has two kids, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman, and Edwards has a son with Amber Rose.
Cher says she cannot help but gush about Edwards. She also expressed that she’s always had a thing for younger guys. “If I hadn’t met younger men in my life, I would never had a date. Because older men just don’t like me all that much, do you know what I mean?” says Cher. “I have had a couple of boyfriends that were hovering around my age, but they just didn’t like me for some reason. Maybe younger men don’t care if you’re funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things and you have a strong personality. I’m not giving up my personality for anybody, OK?”
