Biden Accuses GOP of Turning to ‘Semi-Fascism’
As this summer comes to a close, President Joe Biden is riding the high of his recent revolutionary climate and healthcare reformative actions being passed, revealing a new sense of hope for the administration after a tough couple of months.
“We’ve come a long way in 18 months. COVID no longer controls our lives. A record number of Americans are working,” Biden tells the cheering crowd at a rally held by the Democratic National Committee in Rockville, Maryland. “We never gave up. We never gave in. We’re delivering for the American people now.”
President Biden went on to discuss the state of the GOP during this speech, saying that previous president Donald Trump and his lasting impact on the US government is something that needs to be purged from the Hill. “Trump and the extreme Maga Republicans have made their choice—to go backwards full of anger, violence, hate, and division,” Biden tells the crowd as his social media went from neutral policy posts to directly calling out Republican GOP members such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, who had outwardly criticized Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan while simultaneously benefiting from her own business loan forgiveness. According to the Washington Post, these tweets had more engagement than almost any other from Biden’s White House, or previous ones.
This uptick in outspokenness from the Biden campaign directly correlates with the shortening timeline leading up to the 2022 elections, where the previously predicted Republican takeover is now being threatened by the rebranding of the Democratic party. President Joe Biden has outwardly called out members of the GOP on their support of “semi-fascist” policy, promising voters that his campaign and administration truly will work towards “Building a Better America.”
