Despite the Pope’s recent comments regarding marriage equality remaining a hard “no,” the internationally acclaimed touring exhibition Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition from SEE Global Entertainment, is opening its doors as a wedding destination for all couples, including those in the LGBTQ community.
The touring immersive art installation is offering couples the opportunity to host an unforgettable ceremony under under of the foundations of High Renaissance art—launching in Los Angeles, San Diego, and New York—giving couples the chance to “visit” Italy’s famous Sistine Chapel to exchange vows and allowing guests to experience the emotional, sensory experience the art elicits.
“We have been so moved by the number of proposals and weddings we have already seen take place at our exhibitions across North America,” says Martin Biallas, producer and CEO of SEE Global Entertainment. “It is only right that the next step to take is to offer this unique and special opportunity to all couples, inclusive of the LGBTQ community who has faced an unfathomable number of challenges and setbacks around the right to marriage and civil union.”
The exhibition showcases an innovative, unique interpretation of Michelangelo’s art and offers those who might not be able to travel to Italy the opportunity to see the classic paintings. The ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel are reproduced in a unique fashion, using licensed HD photos and bringing them to life further with a special printing technique that emulates the look and feel of the original paintings
While the exhibition is not yet in Denver, tickets are currently on sale for cities across the U.S., with more coming soon. The exhibition is also hosted in countries around the world.
The exhibit creators are also offering one couple the opportunity to host their wedding under Michelangelo’s iconic masterpiece for free. You can enter to win by visiting sistinechapelexhibit.com, where you can also find additional details, terms, and conditions.
