Denver Century Ride tests limits

Experience some of Denver’s diverse neighborhoods and awesome scenic vistas while supporting a couple worthy causes at the same time. By registering for one of the three Denver Century Rides, cyclists are not only shedding calories and inhaling the fresh Colorado air, but a portion of their admission benefits a charitable and environmental advocacy – BikeDenver and Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center. Join cyclists of all ages and abilities on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 at INVESCO Field at Mile High.

BikeDenver’s mission is to promote and encourage bicycling as an energy-efficient, non-polluting, healthy and enjoyable alternative to transportation.

Executive Director of BikeDenver, Piep van Heuven said, “We are so fortunate here in Denver to be able to take advantage of the many individual and community benefits of bicycling. Our Health, environment and quality of life improve when more of us are on two-wheels – plus, biking is a great and affordable transportation choice.”

Do yourself and the environment a favor when opting for a bike ride instead of the drive to work this summer. And in no time, you too will be signing up for the 100-mile Century Ride.

For more than 30 years, The Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center has protected the lives of more than 10,000 abused and neglected children through legal advocacy, innovative programs and public policy reform.

Both organizations give the Colorado community a reason to enjoy one of three Century Rides Denver offers this year. Whether you are a hard-core elite cyclist, a leisure rider – or somewhere in between – this year’s Denver Century Ride has a course for everyone. From the Community Ride – perfect for any family outing (5 –22 miles), the 62-mile Metric Century Ride and the intense 100-mile Century Ride, the weekend presents an opportunity to have fun in the sun (while getting your daily dose of cardio).

On the 62-mile and 100-mile Century Rides, cyclists will head west from the INVESCO Field, face the signature climb up Lookout Mountain and then wind back down the foothills through picturesque Red Rocks Park. Let the incredible rollers throughout the courses open your lungs and test your limits.
