Nyle DiMarco’s tips for picking up guys in sign language

Since he snatched the crown of America’s Next Top Model, Nyle DiMarco has been taking our computer, phone, and TV screens by storm. Aside from having one of the most flawless Instagram profiles on the planet, he’s also become a front runner on Dancing With The Stars despite not being able to hear the music. He also produces a weekly vlog on Facebook where he explains how he’s conquered dancing by taking cues from his partner Peta Murgatroyd.

Two days ago, YouTuber Tyler Oakley, and current contestant on The Amazing Race, uploaded a video where he sits down with Nyle and learns the basics of picking a man up from the bar in sign language. This is a lesson we all deserve to know.

Nyle teaches Tyler how to sign things like “what’s your name,” “can I get your number,” “can I buy you a drink,” and the ever important “want to go back to your place or mine?”

Nyle goes on to stress the importance of accessibility, and his partnership with the #WeAreAble campaign, which raises awareness to reduce the stigma around disabilities.

“Accessibility is important because it is inclusive, which means more people are involved. It makes them feel important. I’m always inspired every time I meet hearing people and find out they know sign language.”
