NSFW: Adult coloring books to help sooth breakups

WE ARE NOT PLAYING, THESE IMAGES WILL NOT PLEASE ANY SUPERVISORS AT WORK.

We know you queens know how to shade a few things, so put that talent to good use and pick up one of these adult coloring books that is targeted at helping us queers heal from break ups.

Why? We could all use a little more help as we deal with having our hearts broken. Coloring books give us a reason to rip ourselves away from Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter where the memories of our lost love still linger. Also, who doesn’t love a good coloring book?

This is something that Nawwal Moustafa, a teacher and improv comedian, and Nathan Rapport, a Texan artist, realized and gay us two very different, therapeutic options.

Moustafa targets her coloring book, Chin up, Dreamboat, at lesbians.

“The ultimate goal driving the creation of Chin Up, Dreamboat! was to create something original  that people can relate to, especially when you need it. I was motivated to create this coloring book after realizing the comical nature of my own lesbian breakup, and realizing that I was certainly not alone. This work is made to chronicle the lesbian breakup, but can be enjoyed by queer people and allies alike. If you’ve ever loved and lost, you will find something to relate to!” she wrote on her Kickstarter page.

On the other hand, Rapport released a very NSFW coloring book, LAST NIGHT I DREAMED THAT SOMEBODY LOVED ME, for gay men.

“To be totally honest, my initial intention for this book was simply to get some thoughts on paper, help myself get over a tough breakup, and maybe create something finished as a result. I was working my way through a really rough patch in my life and the summer was a very dark time,” he told Queerty.

“My idea for a book began to take shape relatively quickly, and I knew that I was responding positively to the imagery and felt like I was making some thoughtful choices.”
