Angry students take on Westboro Baptist Church
Teenagers are scary. Teenagers are brave. Teenagers are ruthless. We know this, because not long ago, we were them. We were discovering ourselves as we made some of the most important decisions in our lives. So, when people threaten what they think is right, they don’t hold back.
That is exactly what a group of teenagers from Kansas City, Missouri did when members of the Westboro Baptist Church showed up on their high school campus to protest the recent election of a trans girl as homecoming queen.
They fought back, in numbers. Members of the church fled from Oak Park High School when they realized the number of angry students approaching greatly outnumbered them. Chanting “Love Live the Queen” and displaying signs reading “Westboro Baptist Church needs Jesus”, the large group ambushed the members of the church, making them flee to their “nice honda.” As they drove away, the students cheered.
Bravo, kids. Bravo.
