Billy Graham’s son: ‘Boycott Wells Fargo for that Gay Ad!’

Franklin Graham, son of late televangelist Billy Graham, is urging Christians around the world to boycott Wells Fargo.
The reason? Wells Fargo just released a new ad that features two women learning sign language in order to adopt a deaf child. (We’ve put the video below.) The ad has been well received by the LGBT community and their allies … except for, most notably, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Such an odd timing, too — Wells Fargo has long been a sponsor of Pride events around the nation.
Click the image for his super-bigoted Facebook post outlining his outrage and subsequent plans. Fun stuff.
At any rate, Graham moved all the church’s funds ($295M at last count) from Wells Fargo to another LGBT-friendly bank, BB&T. (They scored an 80 on HRC’s Coroprate Equality Index and have sponsored Pride events in the past.)
We got a PR rep from Wells Fargo, Cristie Drumm, on the line and she had this to say:
“At Wells Fargo, serving every customer is core to our vision and values. Diversity and inclusion is foundational to who we are as a company, and part of our vision and values. Wells Fargo’s support for the LGBT community aligns with our broader commitment to diversity — to serve diverse customers; to hire, develop, and retain diverse team members; and to encourage team members to value and respect each other for their differences. Our advertising content reflects our company’s values and represents the diversity of the communities we serve.”
Wells Fargo is also a sponsor of Denver PrideFest, so we’d like to extend a personal thanks for their commitment to the community.
Now … without further ado, the ad:
