Sam Smith comes out of the closet

Though many had suspected that he might be attracted to men after referring to himself as a popstar diva, and aspiring to be like his idols George Michael and Elton John, speculation ends with his new music video “Leave Your Lover.”

Sam has never attempted to hide his sexuality, and has had an openly gay Twitter account for years, but this is the first time mainstream media has recognized his homosexuality in an open way.

The video itself refers to an unrequited love Smith had approximately a year ago.
