Get Ready for Aftershock Festival
The countdown to the West Coast’s biggest alternative music festival now has less than two weeks to go. Situated in Sacramento, CA, Aftershock will be taking place from October 10th-13th and feature some of the biggest names in hard rock, metal, pop punk, and more. For the past few years, the festival has made Discovery Park its home and attendees travel from all over the country for four days of stacked lineups. The official schedule was just released this week, so now you can start planning your daily itinerary for which bands you plan to see.
This will be the festival’s biggest year to date and has expanded to add a fifth stage to the grounds, which means more bands than ever before. A few of this year’s headliners include the likes of Slipknot, Disturbed, Iron Maiden, Evanescence, Judas Priest, and so many more. There will also be a few special performances that you aren’t likely to catch anywhere else. Slayer are performing one of just three reunion shows his year and it may be your last chance to see them.
Till Lindemann of Rammstein is making a grand U.S. debut at Aftershock, and if you aren’t clued in, it’s a pretty big deal. Yet another very rare performance will be seen by Daran Malakian and The Scars On Broadway, who have not toured in years and will be making Aftershock one of only two live shows they’re playing this year. Needless to say, this year’s fest is a worthy investment to catch rare shows by a handful of industry legends and many prominent up-and-
coming artists.
Tickets are still on sale for the full four-day weekend passes, as well as single day passes. Aftershock is not a camping festival, and every year the festival brings in a big influx of tourism revenue to Sacramento’s economy. Hotels are booked up all across the city; restaurants welcome more business, and there is an increased liveliness throughout the week that Aftershock is in town. We will be bringing you post-festival coverage highlights from shows including photos, interviews with artists, and an overall review of the weekend for those who can’t make it out in person.
