Leaked Project 2025 Training Video Claims Leftist Language is Like Mind Control

The investigation by ProPublica provides a comprehensive account of the allegedly leaked training videos associated with Project 2025, which is the Heritage Foundation’s strategic plan to undermine government agencies and civil rights during a second term of Donald Trump’s administration. One video specifically demonstrates the Heritage Foundation’s preoccupation with eradicating “left-wing code words” from the speech of prospective political candidates.

Project 2025 is a comprehensive, 900-page blueprint aimed at implementing far-right ideas and significantly altering the federal government upon a potential re-election of Trump. The comprehensive strategy addresses all sectors of policy, including immigration, the environment, taxes, and LGBTQ+ matters.

Two participants, Sullivan and Bethany Kozma, a conservative activist and former deputy head of staff at the U.S. Agency for International Development under Trump, engage in a comparison between progressive messaging on gender-affirming treatment and the rhetoric used by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

“Words like that are quite a mouthful, and it’s one America needs to spit out before we choke on it.” Sullivan begins the video by mockingly referring to herself in terms of a leftist definition.

The videos also expose another often-overlooked aspect of Project 2025—The Heritage Foundation is not only providing policy suggestions to Trump in the event of his victory in the 2024 presidential election, it is actively preparing potential conservative policymakers to assume positions in Trump’s administration right after his re-election.

These videos provide comprehensive guidance on the beliefs and actions that appointees and staffers should adhere to, which include a firm commitment to the Heritage Foundation’s policy positions, such as its opposition to abortion policies and the regulation of fossil fuel companies to combat climate change. The videos also emphasize the consequences of noncompliance.

In the video, Sullivan and Kozma accuse the left of “weaponized language against the American people” and claim that language is a “powerful and often controlling tool.” Advocating that “language changes culture,” they offer no evidence to support their claims.

Among the 36 presenters included in the Project 2025 training films, 29 individuals have prior experience working in the Trump administration. According to ProPublica, the people seen in these films have refused to provide public comments on them. Trump also publicly stated that he has nothing to do with Project 2025.
