A local favorite in Denver’s Italian food scene, Mici Italian recently celebrated its 20th anniversary this July, marking 20 years of incredible community service and good food.
The restaurant was founded in 2004 by the Miceli siblings, Jeff, Kim, and Michael, and has now grown past Denver into eleven restaurants across four states: Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and Michigan.
“Mici, an abbreviation of our family name Miceli, was born from our family’s desire to bring authentic Italian cuisine to a modern, fast-casual setting,” said Michael, co-owner and co-founder of Mici Italian. “With our father’s blessing and a promise to use only high-quality ingredients, we have stayed true to our roots by making all family recipes in small batches with scratch ingredients since we opened in 2004.”
As well as providing incredible local Italian food to their communities, Mici Italian has made it a mission to give back. The Miceli families still live in the neighborhoods where their restaurants are located, allowing them to truly participate in the community and access their neighbors’ needs. The restaurants provide free pizza parties for youth sports teams and with their loyalty program, kids twelve and under eat for $2 with the purchase of an adult entree.
“As a way to give back, we have donated over $80,000 of value to local schools and children’s organizations every year, ” said Marissa Miceli, co-owner of Mici Italian. “Our commitment to family values is reflected in the long-term retention of both customers and team members as well as our support within our Mici communities.”
If you’re not willing to take my word on how good Mici Italian is, just look at their accolades. They’ve received the Readers’ Choice Best Pizza, Best Italian, and Best Kid-Friendly Restaurant awards from 5280 Magazine, as well as 2023’s Best Family Friendly Restaurant from Colorado Parents.
OFM was lucky enough to try the delicious food at Mici recently and left impressed. Their delicious family recipe sauce and tasty gelato and sorbet absolutely rocked out world, and we’re definitely going back for seconds. From the bread and salads to the decadent desert, every bite is mouth-watering. We especially recommend the chicken parmagane and the rose sauce. Don’t sleep on this place!
The restaurant is currently offering a 20th-anniversary special in honor of their father, whose family recipes are used every day at the restaurant. For only $13.99, you can get their dad’s favorite dish, Chicken Parmigiana, and celebrate the family and community legacy behind Mici Italian.
