July 4th : Fireworks and Events in Colorado

How are you celebrating Independence Day this weekend?

As most of us know, Independence Day falls on Monday this year and whether you are just kicking back at home chilling-out, hosting a barbecue with a few friends, or venturing out to a local event or festival, OUT FRONT wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Keep in mind that Denver, Aurora and Boulder are among the cities, fireworks are illegal. However, there is likely an event that includes a firework display near you.

Our friends over at Channel 7 have compiled an impressive list of events and firework displays happening all across Colorado. Here are a few standouts:

DENVER / AURORA Green Valley Ranch will host a free concert and fireworks. Opening act, Paizley Park (Prince tribute band) at 6:30p.m., Mary Louise Lee Band at 7:30p.m. Fireworks begin after the concert at 9:30 p.m. Plus there’s free shuttle service to avoid parking hassle. <more info>

AURORA — Aurora’s 4th of July Spectacular begins at 6 p.m. on the Aurora Municipal Building Great Lawn, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway. The fireworks, slated to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. The best viewing locations include east of Potomac Street, south of Sixth Avenue, north of Mississippi Avenue and west of Buckley Road. <more info>

BOULDER — Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast will host a fireworks show at Folsom Field. Gates open at 8 p.m. The fireworks will begin as soon as it’s dark, at approximately 9:40 p.m. <more info>

COMMERCE CITY — The city and the Colorado Rapids are hosting what they call, “the largest public fireworks show in the state” at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (6000 Victory Way). Outdoor festivities kickoff at 5 p.m. and the fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m. following the game. <more info>

ENGLEWOOD — The 4th of July Family Festival & Fireworks will be held at Cornerstone Park (5150 S. Windermere Street) and Belleview Park (5001 S. Inca Street). See which park is hosting which events here. <more info>

FORT COLLINS — City Park will have live music and fireworks. From 4:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m., a patriotic band will take the stage, followed by another patriotic performance from 5:45 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The Fort Collins Symphony will play from 8:15 p.m. until the fireworks begin at about 9:35 p.m. over Sheldon Lake. <more info>

GOLDEN — The Golden Lions Club will be hosting the 4th of July community celebration in Lions Park again this year. The celebration is designed to be a day for families, friends and neighbors to get together at the beautiful park on 10th Street. Activities start at noon and end in the evening with a large fireworks display. <more info>

HIGHLANDS RANCH — The 2016 July 4th Celebration and Fireworks event has been moved to Highland Heritage Regional Park. The celebration will start at 4 p.m. at Highland Heritage Regional Park, concluding with the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. <more info>

LITTLETON — The 21st annual Fourth of July Family Festival and Fireworks Show will be held at Belleview, Progress and Cornerstone Parks, near the intersection of Belleview and Windermere. There will be food, fun and games and a fireworks show. <more info>

PARKER — Celebrate Independence Day at the town’s annual celebration, “Let Freedom Sing!” Fireworks will be launched at 9:30 p.m. On July 4 at Salisbury Park, 11920 Motsenbocker Rd. from 6 to 10 p.m. <more info>

WESTMINSTER — The fireworks display begins at 9:15 p.m. in the City Park soccer field, 10475 Sheridan Boulevard. There will also be venders from 4 p.m.-9 p.m., a Bender’s Beer Garden presented by Oskar Blues, an Aerial Assault Performance every hour from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., a Colorado Car Show from 5 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., and a concert by Nacho Men from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visit the City of Westminster website for more. <more info>
