The Grand Marshals of the 2025 Vizzy Denver Pride Parade
For the upcoming Vizzy Denver Pride Parade on June 29, the celebration will be having two Grand Marshals:
Now, What is a Grand Marshal?
According to Britannica, a Grand Marshal is a person or group who is being honored by being chosen to lead a parade. In this case, Denver PrideFest decided to honor the two organizations for how much they’ve positively impacted the queer community. That leaves the question of who exactly are these two groups?
First, Colorado Health Network is a company that helps people who have HIV/AIDS or people who are impacted by it like family members, partners, etc. They assist people by providing food, housing, transportation, and healthcare. They even provide information on how to prevent getting diseases like HIV and AIDS. They’ve been doing good work for years, and this is much deserved!
The other group is the Transcontinental Pipeline, a nonprofit that helps move queer people from unaccepting environments like states with harsh laws against trans and queer folks to safe areas in Colorado where they can be affirmed and live their lives. They provide grants, housing, employment, and community for the people who are moving to Colorado under their program. We love the work they’re doing and can’t wait to see what else is to come from the organization.
Kim Salvaggio, CEO of the Center, and one of the main people behind the he parade, praised and thanked the groups for all of the support. Altogether, both organizations and The Center have been working themselves to the bone to keep us queer people healthy and safe. It is about time they both receive the recognition they deserve as Grand Marshals.
