The Fastest Man Alive: Justin Gatlin
May June 2007

Welcome to the pages of OUT FRONT MAGAZINE! June, 2007 is the celebration of National Black Music Month. Each year, OUT FRONT MAGAZINE pays tribute by presenting music of today in recognition of the many artists who contributes to the wonderful world of Black Music (please see pages 12, 13, 14 and 15).

Justin Gaitlin
“Running is what he does, not who he is.” – Jeanette Gaitlin, mother of Olympic Gold medalist Justin Gaitlin. At the age of twenty-five, Gaitlin who set the world record in the 100-meter dash, has already lived a storied life filled with hurdles both on and off the track. Get to know Justin and parents beginning on page 16.

Eddie Robinson
Grambling State’s Eddie Robinson died April 3, 2007, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. Remember the legend on page 26.

Our Voices Are Many
This year’s performance will be an encore presentation of last year’s “The Daughters of Africa” presentation, with the addition of a new second halt featuring “The Sons of Africa” – black men reading poetry about and by black women. Get a sample of Pensacola’s literary epidemic beginning on page 32.

OUT FRONT MAGAZINE will continue to strive in our commitment to give our readers the best coverage of issues, historical events and entertainment that affect the African-American experience.

PRAY FOR OUR COMMUNITIES; FOR OUR NATION; AND FOR OUR WORLD.
