The world is saddened yet again by the losses of Gerald Levert and James “The Godfather of Soul” Brown. Gerald’s untimely death occurred on November 10th at his home as a result of a heart attack. He was 40. Brown was looking forward to performing at B.B. King’s night club in New York on New Year’s Eve even though he was in the hospital ill with pneumonia. On Christmas morning, Brown’s heart gave out, and he transitioned to the other side. He was 73. Read about the men who changed music on pages 12 and 13.
