Although I had heard the name many times before I began to be conscious of this person called Barack Hussein Obama during the winter of 2007. My first reaction (probably like most African Americans) was to laugh out loud at the mere thought of White People in America of European descent intentionally voting for someone with an African American complexion possessing this sort of unconventional (even radical) name like Barack Hussein Obama.
